But those who know these hacks are finding it easy to use Instagram to its fullest potential while leaving others envious. It’s completely possible to succeed and get famous on Instagram. It indeed is!

Let’s move on beyond the basic Instagram tips and discover those lesser know tips that can be your ticket to Instagram success.

#1. Design Your Grid Attractively

Even if you’ve been an Instagram user for quite some time now, I bet you’ve not done enough research. Have you ever taken a microscopic look at your favorite accounts? Why some of the feeds attract you so much? To stand out on Instagram, you should be able to aesthetically appeal to people. So, don the researcher’s hat and start studying your favorite Instagram accounts on a deeper level. Find out what exactly you’re planning to achieve on Instagram, and then pick a certain tone which aligns with the specific color values of your company or products. Design your grid in a way that’s visually attractive and different from others.

If you’re looking for more help to create a unique grid for your Instagram, this Preview app is a high recommend.

#2. Spruce Up Your Bio with Special Fonts

Did you know that you could lend prominence to your Instagram bio by using special fonts that’s not available in the Instagram community? Well, it’s doable – both via mobile devices and on desktop. Emojis look good, but adding some new fonts to your bio will immediately set you apart.

There are many third-party websites that enable you to add new fonts to your Instagram bio. Using these tools, you can generate attractive fonts and then copy-paste the text to your Instagram profile. Lingojam, which can be used via a mobile device, is one good example of such websites. Go to this site on your phone and type the text for your bio and the next moment, you’ll see your bio in different types of new fonts in the box on the right hand side. Pick the one that you like most and paste it in your bio section on Instagram. There are similar websites that you can use to edit your Instagram bio from a desktop computer or laptop.

#3. Use Hashtags Strategically

A hashtag isn’t anything you can type. The purpose of using hashtags is to expand the reach of your posts. Though Instagram grants you the freedom to use as many as thirty hashtags in a single post, you should use hashtags in a strategic manner. Avoid using hashtags that have a high popularity because you won’t really be able to match up to the competition that comes with those hashtags. Instead, use those hashtags that are moderately popular. It’s a good idea to use a third-party tool like Focalmark to filter hashtags and use only the most effective ones.

#4. Use ‘Type Mode’ for Instagram Stories

Instagram stories offer an excellent way for getting like-minded users to come across your profile, provided you do it right. The more creative you are with your stories, the easier it will be for you to stand out on Instagram. That’s exactly where the Type Mode option comes in. Using the tools in Type Mode, you can edit the appearance of your stories to make them look visually stunning.

With the help of the tools available in Type Mode, you can create a text-only story, add text to a video story, edit font colors, change font size etc. Explore this option and use it to your best advantage for success.

#5. Add Someone Else’s Post to Your Story

You won’t always come up with story-worthy content to post in your Instagram. But you don’t have to wait until you have something new and interesting to share. It’s a good idea to pick an inspiring post from someone else on Instagram and then share it via your own story – after a few tweaks. When you add a post to your story, you’ll have the option to edit it in the same way as you do to your own stories. Redesign the post a little here and there as you like and then share it in your Instagram story.

[P.S.- You can add a user’s post to your Instagram story only if they have a public account or they have enabled resharing of their posts.]

Millions of business owners, online marketers are entrepreneurs are using Instagram to boost brand awareness, drive momentum among the audience and attract a large number of real customers. But if your subscribers open your email, give it a quick browse, and don’t head to your website, what can you do?

Many website owners will just work on improving their email marketing campaigns and hope for a better result next time. But, there’s another highly effective tactic you can use, it’s called retargeting.

Retargeting is a cookie you can place on your website that tracks your site visitors, “follows” them across the web, and displays targeted ads on Facebook, Google, etc. to encourage users to return to your website. But, you can retarget your email subscribers too. By using the data from your website retargeting cookie and your email list, you can create highly effective, personalized Facebook retargeting ads. So, if your subscribers don’t take action with your email, you can get them to take action via Facebook.

Here’s how to effectively retarget your email subscribers on Facebook.

Segment Subscribers Who Didn’t Click

For whatever reason, many of your subscribers may not click on your email at all. In fact, according to email marketing benchmarks from GetResponse, in North America, the email open rate is 19.49 percent, with a click-through rate of only 3.32 percent. So, to capture the attention of those subscribers who don’t click on your emails, you can retarget them on Facebook.

Segment the subscribers who didn’t click on your email into their own list. You can then import that list to Facebook to create a Custom Audience. That way, your retargeting ads will be shown specifically to those who didn’t read your email. Those subscribers may not have noticed you in their inbox, but when you display your message to them on social media, they’ll be more likely to pay attention.

Segment Leads from Customers

Some subscribers on your email list are already customers and some are leads; you need to consider this when retargeting. The goal of your email marketing campaigns should be to guide your subscribers through the buyer’s journey. So, you need to segment leads from customers. Your efforts should be spent on turning your leads into customers and your customers into lifelong, loyal fans.

For example, if your subscribers haven’t purchased your product yet, you can display a Facebook retargeting ad to those subscribers specifically, in order to tempt them into buying. To really catch their attention, you can offer them an irresistible deal that will make them want to buy right away. This Facebook ad from BarkBox uses this exact strategy, which includes a killer deal.

You don’t want to waste these Facebook retargeting ads on subscribers who’ve already made a purchase. Seeing an ad like the one above might even annoy your customers, especially if they never got that sweet deal. Those customers should be shown Facebook ads that offer deals for an upgrade or an upsell that’s relevant to them.

Segment Based on Demographics and Interests

Consumers want to receive messages that are personalized to them and they’re more likely to engage with those personalized messages vs. broad, blanket messages. In fact, according to MarketingProfs, nearly three-fourths of marketers report that targeted messages and personalization of emails improve customer engagement. So, you need to personalize your Facebook retargeting ads too. You can increase personalization by segmenting your email list based on demographics and interests. For instance, if some of your subscribers are only interested in a specific type of product, you’ll want to show them ads that are relevant to them.

For instance, based on what products they browse on your website, your Facebook retargeting ads should display those same products, similar to the example below.

You can also get users to segment themselves based on interests and demographics the instant they become a subscriber. One way to accomplish this is to offer them 2 different lead magnets, via an exit-intent popup, in exchange for signing up for your email list. For instance, you might provide a lead magnet specifically for aspiring bloggers and another one for aspiring virtual assistants. Based on which one the user picks, they’ll segment themselves and you immediately know what they’re more interested in.

Don’t forget that demographics like age, gender, and location are important as well. For instance, a subscriber living in Florida, probably won’t be interested in your Facebook retargeting ad showcasing deals on snowsuits.

Start Retargeting Your Email Subscribers Today

With these tips for retargeting your email subscribers on Facebook, you’ll be able to boost your engagement and sales in no time. Remember, you don’t have to do all of this work yourself. Many of the best email marketing services will allow you to segment your email list for more personalized retargeting ads with just the click of a button. The art of content marketing is changing the way people engage with a website. Through content you’re able to provide value, and sell products to your readers which helps achieve your bottom line Profit. However, many new bloggers fail to incorporate content marketing as a way to increase engagement with their readers. Over the years, while working with different clients, I was able to ask this question to some of them Why haven’t you started to incorporate content marketing into your blogs growth strategy? And here’s what many of them said…

They didn’t know how to implement content marketing because they had trouble creating a clear cut plan to get it done. I couldn’t believe this was what a majority of them had to say. I’ve been working with different clients for the last 5-6 years helping them build an online presence. My strategy includes different avenues to help them, however content marketing has been my main focus in recent years. Next,

I believe content marketing is becoming more important now than ever before. First, search engines like Google loves this type of marketing because it NOT only provides value, but increases the user experience. For example, the content includes a combination of target, long-tail, and LSI keywords which are specific in what the user is looking for. Next, it’s evergreen meaning very rarely does it have an expiry date. Third, It’s very engaging meaning through a solid content marketing plan, you’ll see an increase in social shares, comments, high-quality links, and reduce bounce time. These all fall under Google’s 200 rankings factors showing them where it belongs within the SERP’s.

Today, I want to provide a breakdown of a solid content marketing plan, and how you can start incorporating one into your business by making a few tweaks in the way you create content. Let’s get started, and your feedback will be appreciated going forward.

Research and Purpose

It doesn’t matter what niche you’re in because you have to always start with solid research. In order for you to write content which resonates with your readers, it’s important to find out what’s been trending in recent months. I have a certain procedure I follow to find out what’s been happening within my niche. For example,

I’ll research forums because the information is always in real-time. The amount of people asking and answering questions is amazing. The solutions are provided by people who are experienced, and MOST likely contain up-to-date information about the topic. Next,

I’ll reach out to a handful of bloggers I’ve worked with in the past. These bloggers are guru’s in my niche, and I know they are always up-to-date with the changing trends. It’s their business to be fully in-tuned with what’s happening so they can share it with their readers. My approach is very simple,

I’ll get shoot 5-6 of them an email with my question, and ask them the following:

The question

How I should approach the answer

Where I should look for additional information

Is it a common problem within our niche?

From my experience, the more common the problem, the more quickly it’ll gain momentum once published.

Through research you’ll be able to determine what you should focus on, and it will give you a clear idea of your purpose. For example, if I choose to write about Top 2016 Link Building Tools, it’s much easier to focus on my objective which is to provide people with a tools that’ll help them build quality links.

Type of Content

It’s important to know what type of content resonates with your readers. You have several options, for example:

Infographics

Text

Video content

How-to

Workflow guides

Many more

If you’ve been blogging for several years, and have a stable flow of readers, then you’ll know where to focus your attention. However, for those of you just starting out, it’s going to be tough because you have to find out what works, and what doesn’t. For example, there’s no point in writing text content then MOST of your readers don’t speak English fluently, right? In this case, your better of creating a video tutorial or infographic.

However, if you know anything about marketing, then you know it’s all about trial and error. It’s always good to test out what resonates with your readers. This is easy to figure out once you know what call signs to look for when i.e. comments, shares, bounce rate, retention, etc. We’ll discuss tracking metrics later, however these are the fundamental call signs which will differentiate a successful content marketing campaign compared to one which under performed.

Next,

It’s important to use the tools available to find out as much as you can about your audience. Here’s a few ways to streamline your content type research.

Competitor Analysis

One way I like to find out what type of content resonates with my niche audience is to explore my competition. Some of my competitors have been in the niche for several years so know EXACTLY who to market to, and where to find their audience. I like to skim through the top bloggers, and find what type of content they are focusing on MOST of the time. For example,

If you notice a growth in video content, then you know there’s a reason why they shifted their focus. It might be because their audience can follow through on video’s better than text. Video content is also evidence that how-to tutorials are gaining dominant because tutorials are best displayed in video format.

Forums

This is an old school method which still continues to be one of the MOST overlooked strategies online. Did you know forums have been around way before search engines became sophisticated? One of the very first forums was online way before Google was even a company, and this is why they still are a popular real-time portal for answers. In order for you to use them successfully to find out more about content type, it’s important you read in between the lines. For example, it’s all about finding the right forum then looking for common problems within your niche.

I like to start by heading over to Google, and doing a search top niche + forums. I’ll visit the top 3-4 forums looking for the following information:

Todays posts

Total members

Activity

com ranking

Next,

Skim through a see if I can find a pattern. I like to find questions which are commonly being asked over and over again. This means it’s a popular problem people are having within your niche, and a solution can create a serious buzz online. However, you need to find out more the solutions already posted like how in-depth or what content type. For example, I’ll find a solution someone has written, and click on the link they provide to find out if it’s an infographic, video, text, or even podcast.

If I click on 5-6 solution, and notice all of them provide a video then it’s safe to assume I should focus on creating a video, right? However, when I create a video, I’ll make sure it’s more in-depth, and contains more value than all my competitors. This will ensure I get more shares, comments, and generate more traffic than everyone else.

Google Trends

Not as popular as the other methods, but if used correctly it can provide some great insight into future searches. Google Trends is a tool which gives you a breakdown of the rising keywords, and what the general public is typing into the search engines. For example, when you head to Google Trends, and type in a keyword, you’ll generate a list of keywords which include little clues into a user’s preference. In the past, I’ve had results with the following:

Paper airplane video

How to start a blog video

Quicksprout

Neil Patel

Etc

You can see from the results above that some include the word video, and even the name of an authority blogger. Going forward I know to direct my attention to creating videos or even visit the authority blogs to gather topics or find out about content type.

Next,

I’ve been noticing a huge trend developing since the internet has connected people from all over the world. Some of the countries which visit my blog won’t be from English peaking countries, and videos will resonate with them better. This has increased my overall engagement, focus, conversions, and profits. Understanding your audience, and creating the right type of content can be vital to your success if you know how to fit all the pieces in correctly.

Writing Content & Structure

The way you write, and structure your content is very important to your readers. If words are correctly highlighted, and there is proper spacing, then content becomes easier to read. The easier the content to read, the more value readers can pull out which leads to a higher conversion rate. I’m surprised at the amount of bloggers who don’t pay attention to content structure which slows down their growth going forward. Personally, I believe there are a handful of structure elements you should keep a close eye on. Let’s explore the top 4-5.

Paragraph length

Case studies have proven paragraphs should have no more than 5 sentences. Anything higher will start to cause too much clutter which can push the reader away. For example, think about the amount of times you’ve left a website because all you saw was condensed text everywhere? I know I’ve left numerous times, and I don’t think I’ve gone back because it left a negative (x) in my mind.

Make sure you have no more than 5 sentences per paragraph, and the spacing is 1.15 as outlined below.

Spacing

Each sentence or line within a paragraph should have a spacing of 1.15. When talking about spacing, I’m referring to the gap between the lines above, and below. Here’s an illustration. This is important because it makes it easier for people to follow through as they read. It also reduces clutter.

Keywords

New readers arrived on your website because they are looking for specific information. They went to Google, typed in a specific keyword or phrase, then skimmed through until they found an attractive listing. I think it’s very important when structuring your content to include a few target keywords within each paragraph. These keywords serve as reinforcement for the reader that they are reading relevant content. For example,

When I search in Google for make money online and click-through to a website, I hope the keyword phrase will be embedded within the content. If not, I’ll feel the content won’t provide a solution to the problem I’m having.

Text Decoration

This includes the following: H1, H2, H3, Bold, Underline, and Italic.

The common practice is to decorate target keyword phrases to put emphasis on them. They serve as reinforcement for readers, and is important during the indexing process. Search spiders will skim through your page looking for common keywords because it helps them determine where to place your page within the SERP’s. By bolding text, your putting emphasis on that keyword, and indirectly telling search spiders you would like to rank for that keyword.

Now that you understand writing structure, you can keep a close eye on these elements as you complete your content.

The Writing Process

Writing high quality content can be attributed to understand what your readers are looking for. If you can solve a common problem within your niche, then you’ll build momentum online quickly. However, the less common the problem, the fewer readers. However, writing high quality content doesn’t just happen through research because you need a clear plan. For example, after research it’s important you create a list of keywords, then outline your entire process. For example, it important to know:

What to write in introduction, and what keywords to focus on

Subheadings, and keywords

The Body

How to structure conclusion

Images to add, and where

External, and internal links

Before I start writing, I’ll take a piece of paper and write down in point form what will go in all of these sections.

The Introduction

I like to write this section last because I find this makes the process easier. When you know what’s in the body, and conclusion, it’s very easy to put an introduction together.

Subheadings

These should include your secondary target keywords, and should be decorated with H2-H3 tags. By adding keywords within the sub-headings, readers assume the content is relevant to those keywords. Next, the H2-H3 play a crucial role in indexing.

The Body

You’ve done your research, and know what your readers are looking for s stay focused. Scatter your target and related keywords throughout the body. Keep a 2%-4% ratio in keywords vs. length of content. Remember, you are trying to solve the problem within your niche so make sure you are in-depth, and cover all corners when writing.

Conclusion

This section is NOT tough because you are summarizing what you discussed within the content body. It’s also a good place to add action steps for your readers. Many of them will be new readers, and need a walkthrough on what to do next. This is especially important if you wrote how-to content which showed them how to solve a problem moving through various steps. Give them a breakdown of what to do, and even include call-to-action buttons.

What about links?

It’s a good idea to link target keywords to other content published on your page. This will decrease bounce rate, and increase conversions through value provided throughout your site. External links are a good idea, but only to credit sites because some of them get alerts when you link to them. This increases the chance of them linking back to your if you’ve provided relevant value.

Analyze Content Marketing Strategy

This is where you fine tune your content marketing plan for optimal conversions. I believe anything you do online has to be tested, and fine tuned so you can increase profits. This is why when selling products, it’s always a smart idea to split test landing page, and marketing platforms because some will work better then others. However, testing a content marketing strategy is a bit different. With content marketing, you are testing user engagement, and the approach is a bit different. Here are the fundamental metrics of user engagement:

Time on page

Comments

Opt-ins

Social shares

Conversions

CTR to internal pages

Profits

By analyzing all of these, you can figure out if you have a winning content marketing strategy. In point #1 I talked about your purpose, and what you are trying to accomplish through your content marketing. You are analyzing if the plan you incorporated brings you closer to your objective. Let’s get started:

Google Analytics

Much of what you need to track can be done through Google Analytics. They provide the following information:

Location

Bounce rate

Referral source

Landing page

Search queries

Outbound page

Google Analytics also provides a heat-map so you can see where most of the users spend their time on a page.

Pay close attention to:

Location – this will help you create content catered to people depending on location. If majority from non-English countries, then language will be a problem so video or image content will be best.

Bounce rate – A high bounce rate means they don’t like the initial landing page. Keep this number around 35%. Anything higher means you have to make tweaks to your page.

Search queries – Understand what keywords bring people to your content. Focus marketing efforts around these keywords. Edit content to highlight these keywords or include more going forward.

Outbound – this data shows you what page user was on before leaving. If they left from different page, then you know internal link was clicked in content.

Next,

Social Shares

Social media is changing the way people find content. The top 3†networks: Facebook, Twitter, and Google+ account for over 50% of a sites traffic. A content marketing strategy is only successful when users share your content because this shows you have provided value. For example, let’s say you visit a website, and did NOT find value in the content will you share the content on social media? You most likely answered No. If readers actively share your content, then you know you have a successful content marketing strategy in place.

To test social engagement:

Make sure you have buttons on top and below content

You need social profiles on Facebook, Twitter, and Google+

Tracking can be done using BIT.ly (URL shortener) provides clicks, location, content, time, etc.

Opt-in Form

Depending on your content marketing strategy, you might be selling a product or service. In order to generate leads, you’ll have opt-in forms through your website. With opt-in forms, it’s important to test different locations, forms, headlines, and the conversion rate. It’s been stated the opt-in is higher when you provide value beforehand so with higher conversions, you can determine successful of a campaign.

However, split testing does take time and it’s important you try different locations while giving it enough time to collect data. Here’s are some things to keep a close eye on:

Location: try different locations i.e. footer, sidebar, top of content, and embedded within content.

Split test forms for conversion rate: change headlines, buttons, images, bullet-points

Test follow-up email sequence

Collect data for 3-60 days to get a good idea of conversion rate, and winning opt-in form.

Comments

The higher the comments, the higher value you’ve provided. I’ve only left comments or feedback when the content I read provide in-depth value. When the content is low quality, no one will take the time to leave an engaging comment. The reason I love comments is because of the value you can pull out. For example, through comments, I can find:

What readers liked

Questions they have about a product I’m selling

Gather more content ideas

What they didn’t like

If they don’t understand some in content (I can then edit to correct)

Many people downplay the importance of comments, but it’s feedback which provides great insight into your content. Here’s something I want you to do:

Visit this website, and scroll to the bottom: https://www.quicksprout.com/2014/04/07/your-content-marketing-campaign-will-fail-without-these-10-features/.

You’ll notice over 20-30 comments. Read some of them, and you’ll get an idea of the diverse comments people leave. It’s amazing.

Final Thoughts

No matter what type of niche or business, it’s important you have a solid content marketing plan. Understanding your purpose will guide your marketing strategy, and this will be reflected through your research. It’s when you’re under your purpose that you’re able to focus on your competitors, right? Otherwise, you would have NO clue who your competition is and where they are focusing their energy. Analyzing my competition is one of the MOST effective marketing strategies to date, and it’s very cheap. By visiting their blogs, I’ll have a better understanding of the following:

Keywords

Audience

Resonating content

Trending topics

Social media platforms to focus on

Next,

Once I have a clear cut game plan, I’ll jump into writing content using the format and structure above. Remember, it’s important to use the right spacing, decorative text, keywords and sub-headings. In the end, it’s all about understanding the analytics and how your marketing can be better optimized. Look for the visible signals like:

Landing pages

Bounce rate

Search Queries

Referrals

And others

The success of your business depends on your ability to test what’s working for you. Creating a solid content marketing is the foundation when getting started. After, it’s all about reading over the data, making tweaks, testing, and then optimizing until you reach optimal results.

Though I suppose that is a small part of it. Far more profound than graduating from university, getting married or buying our first home, becoming a parent has had the most far-reaching impact on not only my day-to-day life, but also on my outlook on life.

And yes, it has also had a dramatic effect on my career as a freelance writer, professional blogger, and online entrepreneur. I believe I’ve commented on this in the past, talking about how growing and nurturing an online business is akin to growing and nurturing a newborn baby.

In fact, when you look at some of the parenting quotes that get thrown around on the Internet, you can see how practically the same mindset and perspective can just as easily apply to making money online.

Blossoming Into a Big Bang

Take Mayim Bialik for example.

If you’re around the same age as me, then you probably know her best for playing the title character in the 1990s TV sitcom “Blossom.” If you’re a little younger than me, then maybe you know her as Amy Farrah Fowler, Sheldon Cooper’s love interest in “The Big Bang Theory.” She also happens to hold a Ph.D. in neuroscience. Outside of TV, she is a mom.

“I came to parenting the way most of us do — knowing nothing and trying to learn everything.”

Even though I’d been writing on the Internet since 1999, I didn’t really take blogging seriously as a professional endeavor until 2006. That was the year that I met John, actually, and that’s how I came to devour everything about Internet marketing, WordPress, AdSense, search engine optimization, and all the rest of it. I knew nothing, really, and I was trying to learn everything.

I Have the High Ground!

Learning is good. You never want to stop learning. But learning is not doing. If you want to make any forward progress, you need to put that learning into action. Stop waiting to line up all your ducks in a row, because the conditions will never be perfect.

As the Shia Labeouf meme instructs, you have to just do it. That’s how I approached blogging and freelance writing. And that’s also how I approached fatherhood. I’d never changed a diaper or bathed a baby prior to my own daughter. So, I just plunged in there and did it. I learned a lot, but I found that all the best parenting advice kept contradicting itself.

And this is where an Ewan McGregor quote feels especially appropriate.

“The thing about parenting rules is there aren’t any. That’s what makes it so difficult.”

Some “experts” told me that the baby’s crib should be completely devoid of any objects whatsoever, because they all pose as a suffocation hazard. Other “experts” said that the crib should be a warm and inviting place, so it makes sense to have a comfort blanket or stuffed animal. Some “experts” told me that co-sleeping helps to solidify the bond between parent and child. Other “experts” say that co-sleeping is a recipe for disaster. Who’s right?

Everyone has a different set of “rules” for parenting, but what might work great for one family could be positively horrendous for another. Making money online is much the same. That’s why John said in one of his videos that you shouldn’t gauge your potential for success or your ideal path with that of someone else. There are no rules. There is no certainty. You’ve just go to do what works.

Growing Up Is Hard to Do

Here is one final lesson we can take from the world of parenting and apply to the world of making money online. Well, two final lessons, actually.

There’s only one of you. There are only 24 hours in a day and 7 days in a week. You’ve got to figure out how much you want to do, and how you’re going to do it. Sometimes this means calling in help. Sometimes this means accepting that good enough is good enough. You don’t have to do this alone.

Second, just as your ultimate objective for your child is for them to grow up and to be independent, happy, and successful in their own right, your ultimate objective for your business could be much the same. You’re there in the early stages to grow and nurture it, celebrating in milestones along the way. But at some point, can you really step away? Can you get to the point where you can remove yourself from the business entirely? So that the business can run itself?

A content audit is evaluating pieces of content making sure they are up to date, not anywhere else, and compliant with Google policies. A content audit is usually done every few months, and the process becomes much easier when you have a team to help. However, I’m surprised at the amount of people who still don’t conduct an audit, and this hurts their rankings within the SERP’s. If your site is full of auditing problem, then it can even be removed from the search engines completely. Remember, it’s all about the user experience in the end.

Today, we’ll be looking over the top methods to conduct a content audit on your website. I have collected feedback from the top bloggers, and what they do in order to accomplish this task. Let’s get started, and your feedback will be appreciated.

Create A List of Entire Content

In order for you to start auditing your content, you have to create a list of your entire published content. Depending on the amount of content you have published, screaming frog is a great tool to use to create a list quickly. The FREE version will scan up to 500 URL’s and sort them in Microsoft Excel. However, anything bigger you’ll have to use a paid version. Next,

Depending again on your size, you can go through manually conducting an audit on each, however this will be a much lengthier process. This step is very easy because many tools will generate the list, it’s going forward where you’ll have to look over DATA, etc. As mentioned, this is a lengthy process however it’s only something you do once a year, and can even hire a team to help.

Look Over Metrics

A very important step in order to know what’s performing well or under performing. By analyzing your metrics, you’ll be able to see a trend within your content. For example, how do you know when your content needs to be tweaked? Simple… you look over the trend in recent months, and how it’s changed. If you notice a sudden drop then you know it can be due to:

Penalty

Competitor content

SPAM links

There are many tools you can use but the two popular are: Google Analytics and Ahrefs. Both will provide trends over a certain amount of time and even top content, keywords, traffic, links, etc.

However, you have to pay close attention to specific metrics like:

Category – I like to start by dividing up my content into the right categories. This way I know what content belongs under what topic. This will also help me determine the highest performing content and where to focus afterwards.

Search Volume (Main Keyword) – Knowing what main keyword you have been focusing on is very important. This will allow you to see what keyword links you have built, and how performance to that keyword has increased on decreased.

Organic Traffic – A good idea to build an organic traffic profile. This will tell you how much free traffic you are getting to your site. It’s a great indicator of how things are changing in terms of traffic over the months.

Monthly Traffic – Total amount of traffic to the page, content and keyword. Look for the changing trends.

Number of Backlinks – You should have a clear idea of how many backlinks are pointing to each page. You’ll know if SPAM links have been built by looking at how the profiles have changed.

Average Time on Site – This is something that is very important because it will tell you how people respond to your content. The longer people spend on your website, the better because it shows you provide value. However, if bounce rate is high then you can determine the reader doesn’t spend too much time on page, and doesn’t check out any other content.

Identify Your Reader

In order for you to understand how your content is changing, you have to identify who should be reading it and why. This is why it’s important to have a complete reader analysis done. Once you determine your readership, and know who responds to your conduct, then you’ll be able to find gaps in your strategy. There are a few areas you should be focusing on and I’ll identify them right now.

The Audience – In order for you to understand what type of content is performing, it’s important you know who your audience is. You have many tools which will help you through the entire process so make use of them. First, Google Analytics will provide a great breakdown of where your audience is coming from. Next, you can visit a competitor blog to understand their audience better.

Their Interest – Once you have identified your audience, it’s important you understand what type of content they love to read. This can be accomplished in the following ways:

Social media – Check what content is being shared increasingly with your audience. Shares and Likes is a great way to find out.

Comments – Where are people posting most of their comments. The more comments, the more opinion people have.

Time on page – Through Google Analytics, you can find out where people are spending most of their time. Look for average time on page because a higher time shows interest in that type of content.

Understand Topics and Keywords – Once you have determined your audience and their interest, then it’s important to know what content you should be focusing on going forward. Remember your ultimate goal is to write content which your audience loves to read and share. You have to narrow your focus to write more content which increases engagement. In the end, that’s the bottom line because it will help you convert your audience and increase profits.

Before, you can start to write your content, it’s important you do the next step to understand your topics, writing strategy and if it can be improved.

Google Keyword Planner – If I know about my audience then I can use Google Keyword Planner to do some searches to help find topics. For example, make a list of your main keywords and head over to Google Keyword Planner. Type each one into the tool and see related keywords + search volume.

Google Trends – I love to use this tool because its shows how things are changing within the search. It also gives you a chance to get a jump start on your competition because you’ll know what’s trending before them. However, you have to make sure each search using Trends should be conducted with a list of target keywords.

The Content Gap

What does this mean? This means you have to find out and analyze what you have discovered through your audit so far. After, you can see how much of the DATA is matching up between what you uncovered, and what you have published so far. For example, if I know my guests love content based on link building, but I have been focusing on content marketing, then I’ll have to adjust my writing. Keep in mind, your engagement will only increase if you are able to give your readers the kind of content they are looking for. If your audit shows they like a certain type of content, and you writing a completely different type, then you’ll slow down your engagement.

Final Thoughts

Conducting a content audit is very important is you plan on increasing engagement, and loyalty among your website. Through content audits, you’ll be able to determine what type of content your users like, and this will bring you closer to your bottom line. However, doing a complete audit can be very tedious which is why I recommend you should spread out the entire process. For example, follow the steps above to get started, and here they are in short form again.

First, start by organizing your content right now and creating a list of your existing content. This will allow you to go through each and know what content is published, and what remains. It will also give you a chance to organize them into the right categories i.e. link building, content marketing, social media, etc.

Secondly, use the tools you have available to look over the metrics. I like to use Google Analytics and Ahrefs.com because they’ll provide a complete profile. You can also use GWT to find internal and external links, however from my opinion it’s a good idea to use Ahrefs because it’s an all-in-one solution to your requirements. With that said, you have to create a list of the following:

External links

Internal links

Organic traffic

Average time on page

Top content

Etc

Third, understand your audience, and what they are leaning towards in terms of content. For example, you’ll notice some content resonates more with your readers. It’s important you focus on the same type of content because this is what ultimately builds momentum with readers.

Fourth, analyze the gap within your content so you can fill it in afterwards. For example, if you know your readers love link building content, but you’ve been writing content on marketing, then it’s time to switch it up, right? This way you’ll have more content that your readers love and this will increase the likelihood of a conversion. However, I’m still surprised at the amount of visitors which don’t understand their audience enough.

It’s time to go through each element adding it to your content auditing so you can get a better idea of the type of content you should be focusing on for conversions, and user engagement.

Lead magnets are basically a freebie that you offer to your website visitors in exchange for their email address. You want to offer your website visitors a lead magnet that they’ll love. Some of the most popular types of lead magnets are eBooks and mini eBooks, as well as guides. But those lead magnets take time to create. Plus, an eBook or a guide doesn’t interest a lot of people because they take time to read too.

Instead, you want to create a quality lead magnet quickly, that your audience will want to get their hands on immediately. Luckily, there are a number of lead magnet ideas you may not have considered that are highly-effective and can be crafted in no time at all.

Check out these 7 unique and easy lead magnets that will get you more subscribers.

1. Checklist

A checklist is one of the quickest lead magnets to make and it works for a number of different businesses and industries as well. For instance, if you started a blog about blogging, you could create a checklist for writing the perfect blog post. An accountant could create a tax prep checklist. And an eCommerce business could create a checklist for a music festival, recommending their audience to purchase a rain coat, a fanny pack, and so on. The possibilities are endless.

Plus, a checklist is easy to consume for your audience. They can download your checklist after opting in and use it right away with little effort.

2. Resource list

A resource list is another awesome lead magnet idea that you can pull together in no time. A resource list is basically a list of recommended websites, articles, tools, etc. to help your website visitors learn how to do something or reach their goals. Resource lists are a huge hit with audiences. You save them a ton of time and research by pulling together everything they need to know into one place.

Don’t just add links to a document, convert it to a PDF, and leave it at that though. You need to design an eye-catching resource list so that your audience feels like they’re receiving a quality lead magnet.

3. Calendar

Another unique and easy lead magnet idea is a calendar. A calendar lead magnet is especially great for businesses and blogs centered around fitness because you can add exercise and meal plans for each week, so subscribers have everything planned out for them.

But a calendar lead magnet could work for a number of other niches as well. You could create a content calendar template for bloggers, a study calendar for students, or a social media holiday calendar.

4. PDF version

Want to create a lead magnet in an instant? Look no further than the PDF version lead magnet. You can take your most popular blog post, turn it into a PDF, and offer it to your website visitors to download.

A PDF version of your blog post gives people the opportunity to own your blog post and read it over and over again at their leisure, without requiring an internet connection. This lead magnet is super simple to create and highly-effective.

5. Template

Another unique and easy lead magnet to create is the template. Templates are super useful for your audience. You can turn a number of tasks into a template such as writing a blog post or creating a resume. All you have to do is provide an outline for the task and provide users a space to fill in the blanks with their personal details.

You can sweeten the deal of your lead magnet and get even more people to click the download button by providing a number of different templates at once. For instance, in the example above you get 5 free blog post templates to create the how-to post, list-based post, curated collection post, slideshare presentation post, and newsjacking post.

6. Membership

One often overlooked lead magnet idea is the membership. A membership site makes people feel like they’re a part of something special. You can charge members a fee or offer a free membership in exchange for their email address. With a membership users can gain access to special content like a podcast, exclusive blog posts, or a members-only forum.

Creating a membership site might seem time-consuming and difficult but with a membership plugin like MemberPress, it’s easy. With MemberPress you can turn your existing website into a membership site and easily control who sees what content.

7. Facebook group

If you don’t want to create a membership site, another option for you is a private Facebook group. Your website visitors can request to join your private Facebook by providing their email address.

You can create a private Facebook group in no time at all, but of course, some upkeep is required with this type of lead magnet. You’ll need to keep your Facebook group updated with helpful, entertaining posts as well as interact with members in the comment section in order to keep your group members active and engaged.

Conclusion

You can create most of these lead magnets using a free tool like Canva and you can present your lead magnet with an attention-grabbing popup using a tool like OptinMonster. Now that you’ve got some great lead magnet ideas that are easy to create and irresistible to your audience, get ready for your email list to grow like crazy.

What Is Wagyu?

Wagyu means Japanese cow and it is the name given to cattle breeds developed over centuries in Japan. Wagyu beef is known for its intense marbling and carries a well-deserved reputation for exquisite taste, texture and tenderness.

The world of cows in Japan can be traced by breed, bloodline, and even geography. Beginning in the Meiji Era, the Japanese reognized the value of Wagyu beef and sought to develop it into the highest quality beef in the world, Seeking to preserve the purity of the bloodline, Japan banned the export of the Wagyu DNA in 1997.

There are four main breeds of Wagyu in Japan. By far the most important of the four Wagyu breeds is Kuroge Washu. It’s known for its unique genetic disposition for exquisite marbling. Kuroge Washu is the only breed of cattle that can achieve an A4 or A5 rating by the Japanese Meat Grading Association.

Kobe Confusion

You’ve probably herd o Kobe beef. But thanks to mislabeling in the US, the term is subject to much confusion. For example, beef that is actually only a small percentage Wagyu is often sold at a high premium and labeled as “American Kobe.”

In order to be certified Kobe beef, the cattle must be Japanese Black (Kuroge Washu) and pure Tajima. Also, the cows must be bred, raised and slaughtered in the Hyogo perfecture of Japan. Finally, the meat must reach a 6 or above on the BMS marling scale.

Marbling and the BMS Grading System

Marbling is the distribution of soft white intramuscular fats within the red meat. Generations of careful breeding and management of diet and exercise contribute to the unique marbling of Wagyu Beef.

Wagyu is graded for its marbling on a scale of 1-12, with 12 being the highest achievable quality. At this level, the beef is considered a work of art!

To be designated as “A5 Wagyu,” the beef must be raised in Japan and achieve the highest possible rating by the Japanese Meat Grading Association. For reference, USDA Prime beef, the highest designation of quality in the US, is equivalent to 4 or 5 marbling score.

And neither are common knowledge or common courtesy? As much as we would like to sum up the world in some sort of universal truth that can be broadly applied to every circumstance and every situation, that simply is not the case. Wouldn’t it be so easy if we could find those few guiding words to direct us through all our difficult times?

I had this thought the other day as it pertains to running a successful business. While I am most familiar with the context of freelance writing and professional blogging, this observation is worth considering no matter how you choose to make your living. And it comes from combining two common sayings in somewhat uncommon way.

Trust the Process

Especially when it comes to any sort of creative endeavor, one of the more common pieces of advice that you’ll hear is that you should trust the process. You likely won’t achieve great success in the beginning, because few people rarely do, but if you put in the hours and really dedicate yourself to your craft, you’ll naturally improve your skills. Success will come.

Practice makes perfect, right? When I first got started with freelance writing and blogging at a professional level, I was remarkably prolific. At one point, I was writing over 20 news stories a day, every day, for a technology website. I also blogged daily on my own site, and juggled responsibilities with other clients.

That’s a lot of practice. And it is through that practice that I was not only able to hone my craft, but also to develop a more streamlined process for writing the articles and blog post. I kept at it. I trusted the process. Today, I do much the same thing with my weekly vlog. I put in the hours of learning how to plan, shoot and edit a video with a fast turnaround.

If you keep doing the right thing, if you endure and persevere, success will come. Pablo Picasso didn’t get “discovered” right away, but he got to the point where he could demand obscene amounts of money for a scribble on a restaurant napkin. Because he trusted the process.

The Best Process Is…

But here’s a different thought on the concept of process. During his interview and Tesla factory tour with YouTuber Marques “MKBHD” Brownlee, Elon Musk said something in passing that really struck me, even though he’s hardly the first person to have said it. When asked about reducing costs and increasing efficiency at the Tesla factory, Musk said:

“The best process is no process.”

There is this one section in the Tesla assembly line where one of the automated robots picks up the car being made, rotates, and places the partially-built car onto another platform. This step really bothered Musk, because it seemed like such an unnecessary waste of time. If he could eliminate that part of the process, the assembly line would be more efficient. And costs would be reduced too.

And the same is certainly true when it comes to content creation on the Internet too. The fewer steps that go into your process, the more efficient you can be. This can be able generating ideas, drafting posts, editing the content, or sharing it on the social media. If you can take fewer steps — like if you can automate sharing to social media — you can make more content, more quickly.

Trust Nothing?

If you’re supposed to “trust the process” and “the best process is no process,” what conclusion can we draw? Doesn’t that mean that we should trust nothing? I’m not so sure, but it is a thought that has crossed my mind on several occasions since it occurred to me to combine these two tidbits of “common knowledge” or “common advice.”

But you know what? Success is decidedly a rather uncommon thing. So, maybe we should stop focusing on these little nuggets of wisdom and start working toward developing paths and solutions of our own. Strike it out on your own, take risks, be unafraid to experiment (and fail), and there’s no limit to what you can achieve.

Unfortunately, their efforts are often misguided. Mostly due to a common misconception on how to increase traffic and build loyal customers.

Some believe that the number of website visitors is dependent on the size of one’s budget.

However, this information is incorrect and is most likely costing businesses money.

There is a higher probability that businesses are spending their marketing dollars in the wrong place and on methods that do not provide a return on investment.

What many business owners do not know is of the money-saving techniques they can use for increasing website traffic, like showing up in search engine results, for example.

When most businesses consider using a search engine to increase website traffic, they often go directly to paid ads.

Most consider the only way to boost their website traffic is to use Pay-Per-Click (PPC), Native, Display, and Social Media Ads.

The majority of businesses are unaware of the search engine methods that help generate organic website traffic.

And 93% of all online experiences begin with a search engine.

Therefore, your business needs to use search engines to gain more traffic and loyal customers.

To start, you will need to know more about organic website leads.

What Are Organic Website Leads?

In marketing, lead generation is the initiation of consumer interest or inquiry into products or services of a business.

To generate interest businesses can use paid or non-paid advertisements.

Paid advertisements are pretty straightforward. Non-paid ads are natural or organic methods for driving traffic.

To help reach your goal of increasing and converting visitors into loyal buyers, choose to use organic advertising methods.

The reason is clear, nearly 80% of users ignore paid ads in search results.

Here are nine ways to turn organic website traffic into loyal customers using search engines.

9 Organic Ways to Convert Website Traffic into Loyal Customers Using Search Engines

Your number one objective for increasing website traffic is to create more leads, prospects, and loyal customers.

To do this, you must prevent your company from constantly putting its profits to waste and to use no money at all.

It seems like an almost unheard of way of advertising, but it is an effective way to gain more customers.

It is time to start implementing organic processes to meet your overall goal of developing a loyal customer base.

Generate Organic Website Traffic and Loyal Customers

1. Develop Your Content Strategy

If you do not have a plan to follow, your content will not bring you the desired results, rendering your efforts useless.

It is imperative to create a content strategy that you and your team can use consistently.

The more detailed the strategy is, the better. You want to ensure everyone is continuously pumping out relevant content.

Your goal is to have your team make and post content search engines like and customers enjoy.

The strategy needs to include an assortment of content for your team to create and the sites where they need to publish them — i.e., social networks, blog, website, and so on.

Customers will come to depend on you for content, and when you deliver it, it keeps you top-of-mind when they are thinking of their next purchase.

By producing content people can rely on, you build trust and loyalty with customers.

2. Do Keyword Research

Know which words or key phrases to use on your website and inside your blog posts to rank in search engines accurately.

If you want to land in the number one spot on Google, for instance, you will need to research the correct keywords to outrank the competition.

The words you choose are powerful enough to put your content on either the first page or fifth page of Google. It all depends on you.

Take the content you make seriously enough to do the research and use the right words to rank better on search engines to receive organic traffic.

When you use keywords customers use to search for content, you make their lives easier.

Findability and convenience are two things customers love.

3. Optimize Website Design

Your website is the “hub” of your brand’s existence. It is the place where you put all of your business information for customers to find.

Unfortunately, 46% of small businesses didn’t have a web presence in 2018.

This needs to change.

Most of what you share on social media should direct visitors back to your site. Increasing traffic and creating leads.

Once you create a website, know its design, matters.

Optimizing your website is essential to rank in search engine results. It is also vital to the outcome of the customer experience.

If your website loads slowly, is not mobile-friendly, or if you use duplicate content or unrelated text, you will cause search engines to rank your site, poorly.

51% of searchers are more likely to purchase from a website that’s been optimized for mobile.

Create a website or “hub” that generates website traffic, organically.

The experience your visitors have with your website will impact whether or not they will buy from you. Loyalty is given only to those businesses who put customer service, first. Here is a guide I put together to build a website that will be setup for success.

4. Publish Regular, Consistent and Helpful Blog Content

When content does not exist about your products, services, or store, then to customers, you do not exist.

People who are looking to shop are not willing to spend a great deal of time searching for something they cannot easily find. They will give up quickly.

Content creation is significant to the customer experience. Its quality and delivery can directly impact buying decisions. It can also bring traffic to you or keep them away.

Make and publish quality content on a regular and consistent basis to increase organic website visitors.

Quality content that is personable and engaging makes trusting your business much easier to do. Make sure to put this together in your calendar.

And loyalty only comes after trust is established.

5. Understand Your Customer Personas

A customer persona is a representation of your ideal customer based on market research and data about existing customers.

To correctly understand your customer personas, use analytics and insights to look for any decreases and spikes in traffic. You will want to also look at customer demographics, behavior patterns, motivations, and goals.

After you review all the customer information, you will gain a better perspective on who or what to target to increase website visitors. You will be able to attract more organic leads and personalize your digital marketing strategies, to fit each persona more accurately.

6. Create Multi-Organic Conversion Points

If your website only has a contact form or request for a demo button, then your company is missing out on converting prospects into buying customers.

To organically gain the attention of website visitors you will need to create multiple-organic and compelling conversion points.

You will want to consider including some of the following on your website.

Email marketing opt-in form

Newsletter subscription

Pop-up chatbox

Install a full-screen welcome gate on your homepage

Add an e-commerce order completion page

Paid subscription sign-up

Contact us page

These are a few conversion points that allow you to gain customer information with their permission. Once they choose to opt-in, you can contact customers in an attempt to convert them.

No paid ads or money required. It is all done organically.

In giving customers a few options to connect with your business, allows them to initiate the relationship. This union will be stronger due to the customer making the first move.

When this occurs, the building of trust and loyalty can begin.

7. Leverage Social Media

It is essential that you use social media to your advantage. Most think to gain more customers on social media, will require paid ads, but this is far from the truth.

There are several effective ways to increase sales, organically.

Target your audience with the type of content you create.

Stay active, post often, and remain consistent

Use automation tools when necessary

Tastefully offer exclusive promotions

Connect with social influencers

Encourage employees to be advocates for your company with them using their social media accounts.

By incorporating different organic methods to reach customers, you will not only see results but save company dollars, too.

Personalizing the customer experience, based on needs, helps convert visitors into loyal customers.

8. Share Customer Service Examples

When you share customer reviews, recommendations, and testimonials, you give potential customers a look at the customer service you provide.

You will draw in organic visitors by sharing the positive interactions and experiences you have with your existing customers.

People trust recommendations, your business needs to spread the word of others.

A 2017 report showed, 55% of people will search online for reviews and recommendations before making a purchase, with 47% visiting the company website, 26% checking out the physical store, and 23% of people talking with friends and family.

Use social media to post about the excellent customer service you provide through the words of those who have purchased from you in the past.

It is also important to constantly find ways to improve your customer service to continue receiving great feedback you are proud to share.

9. Monitor Performance and Continue to Optimize Your SEO Efforts

Always keep an eye on what is working well with your strategies, and what is not. There will be times when a type of content works, and you will want to try to replicate the same results.

Other times, you will experience a dip in the visitors you receive due to no longer posting regularly on social media sites, for instance.

It is vital that your efforts do not go to dissipate or become ineffective.

You will want to track what your customers are doing when they visit your sites. It is also essential to monitor the performance of your content and social posts. In both cases, be sure to use your findings to connect with website visitors.

Use insights and analytics to your advantage is how to reach customers best. Show them they can relate to your business by knowing what type of content they want.

All nine ways will increase your organic website traffic and turn visitors into loyal customers. The more efficient your website and content is, the more effective it will be.

Remember to keep things simple and not to overwhelm visitors with too many options. Choose the methods that will best work for your type of customer base and business.

Be transparent and authentic in every way possible, and you will experience growth in loyalty amongst customers.

The more effort you put into not paying for ads to be seen, the more organic traffic you will receive.

When you experience an increase in traffic, you also gain more organic opportunities to turn visitors into loyal customers.

However, I’ve always felt the shiny chrome trims didn’t go with the high-tech look, and decided to “de-chrome” it. The local Tesla mod shops wanted over $1000 to cover the chrome with vinyl wrap. I thought that was way too expensive for a few strips of vinyl, and came up with another solution. Instead of paying $1K+ to have a shop vinyl wrap the chrome, we DIY it with $20 of Plasti Dip. Watch the video to see how we did it. The mod came out great!

Through content we can market our products, and services while building the right type of engagement with our audience. However, we often fail to see what’s important because when writing content, you have to keep some of the specifics in mind. Over the years while working with the top bloggers within my niche, I was able to understand a lot about content marketing, and what’s important. For example, I’ve learned 3-4 cool tricks which must be implemented into your content no matter what. By adding these, you’ll be able to attracted your readers, and be able to build the initial connection important to meet your bottom line. Next,

Through content, you’ll rank higher within the SERP’s which is important to generate enormous organic FREE traffic. This type of traffic you don’t pay for so it’s important you know what type of content to write to get a competitive edge over your competition within the SERP’s. Through the last 3-4 months, I have been going through blogs, and performing my own research. This has led me to create this list for you which contains 3-4 solid strategies to stand out through your content, and build enormous momentum on all platforms. Let’s get started and your feedback will be greatly appreciated.

Initial Connection

Writing content and blogging is nothing WITHOUT building a connection with your audience. If you can build a connection with your audience, then they will hang on to your every word. However, this process can be very difficult if you don’t know who your audience is, right? It’s knowing who they are which allows you to focus your attention in a certain direction. With that said, it’s important you use the tools available to you to learn about your audience. For someone who has been in the business a long time this will be easier since you’ve had enormous time to figure them out, however if you are just starting out then you’ll have a much harder time. Use these following strategies to learn about your audience. Once you have, then you can write content targeted to them gaining momentum and loyalty.

Google Analytics – Many people think GA is a tool to find out where people come from, and where they land. This is correct, however you can pull out other information too. You have to be creative when trying to understand your audience, and approach it from a perspective as though you’re the audience. For example, when I’m reading DATA, I’ll often look at what things matter to me when I’m on a blog reading content. Through Google Analytics, you can pull out enormous information like the following:

Location – By understanding location, you’ll know how to target your content and language. If you are getting people from low English speaking countries, then a language converter will work well. You might want to switch around the content format to images, and video because visitors can easily follow them through. A non-English speaker will have a hard time reading content, but an easier time watching a video, right?

Search Queries – GA will provide a list of the search queries typed by your audience. This is great because it provides you with future content idea’s. For example, if I see high numbers of queries based on link building, then going forward the will be my focus when writing content.

Landing Pages – This DATA shows where my audience is going on my website. Will provide me great insight into what type of content likes, and where engagement is highest. A good focus point, the next time I write content for my audience, and blog.

A Promise Always Works

Your blog has to have a focus point, and an objective. This objective will most likely be your promise to your audience. For example, link building blogs promise to show you case studies, provide news, and teach you how to rank within the SERP’s using advanced link building strategies. In the end, it’s important you fulfill that promise to your audience so they will become loyal readers. However, this can only be done through content i.e. text, video, images, and infographics. You have to ensure you meet your objective which in turn will create higher engagement. Many times I see bloggers fail at their objective because of the following:

They go off course and the content suffers. Your readers have arrived on your blog for a reason. You write relevant content for the first few weeks, then go off course and readers no longer find solutions to their problems.

After growth, blog owners get greedy and stop writing passionate content so again no relevance.

Bloggers push to make money right away WITHOUT providing constant solutions. Remember, your promise is to help the readers- not keep selling them stuff.

You have to be specific about what you’ll provide them, and be different in the way you provide it to them. Next, you have to offer quality which they won’t find anywhere else. The fundamentals are simple, but people fail to follow them.

Give Them Action Steps

Content is only valuable as long as your visitors engage with it. Your goal should be to provide value, and have readers convert because they find a solid solution on your blog. However, many times this does not happen for two very important reasons. First, you fail to provide them with the value they are looking for, and this forces them to leave without taking action. Secondly, many of the newbies DON’T know what to do after they are finished reading your content. With that said, it’s important you provide your readers WITH action steps they can take after reading your content. Here’s are two ways you can accomplish this:

First, you have them opt-into your newsletter and through a series provide them with small steps which they find easy to follow. This works very well especially if they are inexperienced online, and need to accomplish objective slowly. However, it’s important they opt-into your newsletter so add forms within the middle of the content and bottom.

Next,

You are going to have all types of readers both experts and newbies so it’s a good idea to place complete action steps towards the bottom. If you have read my previous content, then you know I always like to give action steps for the reader to follow. This way they can work at their own place, and finish the steps at a rate they are comfortable with. Action steps is a great way to earn the trust of the readers because psychologically when you help someone through a series of steps they learn to trust you more becoming very loyal.

Proof The Solution Works

If you want to achieve higher conversions, it’s important you show your readers the solution you offer works. This is actually NOT hard at all because you are probably writing content on something which you are an expert on or have done before. With that said, it’s important you show your readers in a structured way.

Research – Everything starts with research, and it’s important you are an expert in the topic you are writing about. When I’m writing content for conversions, I’ll spend 2-3 weeks gathering idea, and how I can implement them going forward.

Implementation – It’s important you try all the strategies you researched and you’ll be writing about. First, it will allow you to understand each one better and which ones produce results. Next, it will provide substance to your content because it’s better to have proof something works.

DATA Collection – As you go through each one, it’s important to keep track of the results. I’ll do this by writing everything out in my favorite WordPressor or keep a spreadsheet. I’m trying to find what works so it’s important I know so keeping track of DATA is very important.

Writing Content – Once you have done all of the above, you have to make sure it’s presented the right way. This means starting with an introduction explaining your research and topic. The experiments you conducted with solid graphs of results, and conclusion summarizing everything you have covered in the content.

Keep in mind,

Just because you are an expert and implemented everything doesn’t mean your readers will be. I suggest you write content which is very easy to understand so no matter the skill level everyone will have an easy time extracting the value. If you need help, then I would suggest you do a quick Google search looking for online case studies. Visit your regular blogs and find some studies they have conducted. After, you can go through utilizing the content structure they have used when presenting their results.

Final Thoughts

It’s time to go through each of these points once more and start creating a list of things you can implement into your content strategy. Engaging your audience has a lot to do with your ability to tap into their minds, and what they are looking for. However, this does take time and patience because some things will work better than others, but with the right DATA collection, you’ll be able to come up with the right plan.

Next,

Content can work magic if presented in the right way, but before you can accomplish this you have to understand your audience. After, you can present value to your readers, and promise if they continue to read your blog they will be able to achieve EXACTLY what you stated. Show them the value by showing experiments you conducted and the results you achieved. Remember, the proof is in the pudding, right? Make sure your content is written in a well-structured manner which both experts, and newbies will find very easy to follow.

It just feels good when you hit major milestones, like when you get 1,000 followers on Instagram or 10,000 followers on Twitter. But these milestones don’t really mean that much of a different from a practical standpoint, because there is no measurable benefit from having 1,000 followers compared to having 999… other than the psychological, of course.

And while there are no explicit, quantitative requirements to get verified on Twitter or on Instagram, for example, there are specific numerical requirements on other social media platforms to unlock certain privileges and features. Here are some of the big ones you should have on your radar.

Facebook

So, you want to get verified? Getting the gray verification badge or the blue verification badge on Facebook has a number of requirements, but none of them have to do (at least directly) with the number of likes and follows that you have. You could theoretically apply for those badges very shortly after starting your Facebook page.

The bar may be set relatively low, but you do need to have at least 25 likes on your Facebook page to claim a vanity URL. This way, you can direct people to facebook.com/yourbusinessname as a simpler and better branded URL. Of course, you could always do yourname.com/facebook as a 301 redirect too, but having a vanity URL on the Facebook.com domain is still very important.

In addition to the vanity URL, Facebook also allows you to create your own milestones and share them with your fans and followers. Celebratory badges sometimes pop up when you reach certain milestones too, like when you get to 1,000 likes on your page.

Instagram

A great part of the appeal of Instagram is also one of its greatest sources of frustration for many online influencers. Unlike most other platforms, like Twitter and Facebook, you generally cannot share links directly within Instagram as a regular user. You can pay for ads, of course, but that’s not really the same thing. You can put the URL in your caption, but it’s not actually clickable. That’s why most people end up going with the “link in bio” approach.

However, you’ll notice that some Instagram accounts have a “swipe up” feature in Instagram Stories where they can drop a specific outbound link. Regular users can only “swipe up” for one of their IGTV videos. In order to unlock this “swipe up” function, you need to have 10,000 followers on Instagram.

There are some workarounds you can use, but that’s the benchmark for the official feature.

YouTube

As mentioned above, you need to have 25 likes on your Facebook page before you can get a vanity URL for that page. On YouTube, the number is just a tad higher, but well within reach for even a modest beginner. You need to have 100 subscribers to get a custom YouTube channel URL, which would otherwise be called a vanity URL. Before you reach that level, the URL to your YouTube channel will look like a nonsensical string of letters and numbers.

The more challenging benchmark to reach is if you want to enter YouTube Partner Program for monetizing your videos with AdSense. The threshold used to be much lower and allowed many smaller YouTubers to eke out a little bit of earnings, but that changed at the beginning of 2018. Now, you need to have 4,000 watch hours in the last 12 months (that works out to 240,000 minutes if you didn’t want to do the math) and 1,000 subscribers.

Put another way, in addition to the 1,000 subscribers, you need an average of 20,000 watch minutes each month. How you translate those minutes into views (or rather vice versa) will depend largely on your content and your audience. You can’t expect every person to watch all the way through your 20-minute vlog.

And yes, there are certainly many alternatives to AdSense to consider, but if you want to get in the YouTube Partner Program, those are the numbers you need to meet.

When your site is regularly updated with content you stand a better chance at retaining an audience — and a customer base.

Around 6.5 million people blog regularly, as of 2018. Due to a ton of content pouring out on a daily basis, it’s important that you stand out from the crowd when you create your website’s blog.

How do you stand out?

One of the top connections between successful websites is the plugins they use to keep their blog up and running. If you’re looking to hit it big in the blogging scene, we’re here to show you some of the best plugins you can add to your WordPress blog this year.

These plugins all have a variety of functions that can make it easier for you to operate your business. We will explain the primary functions of each plugin and how they can benefit your blogging career.

1.SeedProd

When you’re in the development stages of your blog you’re going to want people to know that you have something big in the works. This is why you need a plugin like SeedProd, which will help you build the perfect coming soon page for your website.

SeedProd comes out of the box with over 500,000 backgrounds, 750 Google-approved fonts, and 50 beautifully crafted themes. Using the intuitive drag and drop builder you can customize the experience for your end user.

You can also use this as an opportunity to ask people to sign up for your email list for upcoming news on the blog. Wrap it all up with the ability to track referral links and email conversions and it’s easy to see why SeedProd is one of the best Coming Soon page plugins.

2.Yoast SEO

While creating content and your coming soon page should be at the front of your mind, one of the best ways to improve business early on is picking quality keywords and implementing a smart SEO strategy.

Yoast SEO makes search engine optimization a breeze. This plugin connects seamlessly with your WordPress website and gives you insight to your on-page SEO, tips on how to improve your ranking through smart highlights, and a checklist at the end of the post that gives you clear insight as to whether your SEO and readability are up to snuff.

3.PrettyLinks

As a blogger and business owner, you’re going to want to keep things short and simple — including your link building efforts. As the name implies, Pretty Links helps you make your links look better, and keeps them organized.

You’ll be able to convert one of your blog links into a shortened, “pretty” look in seconds. After you’ve shortened your link, it’s ready for social sharing, placing in content, and more. The best part about this plugin is you can easily track all of the links you’ve created. This feature makes tracking affiliate links, redirects, and social media links simple.

4.MonsterInsights

MonsterInsights is a plugin designed for those who like tracking their stats, but are looking to make it easy. This plugin gives you the ability to merge your Google Analytics with your WordPress website.

After installing MonsterInsights you’ll be able to track all of your important website data such as page views, bounce rate, sessions, conversions, and how readers are finding your blog. You can even go in and edit the Insights dashboard so all of your most important details are at the top of the screen when you view your real-time insights.

5.WP Rocket

WP Rocket is an excellent choice for those looking to improve the speed of their blog. Data shows that there is a big difference in bounce rate depending on your website speed. If your page loads in 2 seconds, typically 9.6 percent of people “bounce.” If your site takes 7 seconds to load about 33 percent of people bounce from the page.

Out of the box, WP Rocket comes with a suite of features designed to improve your website speed. Static file compression lightens the load of your HTML, Javascript, and CSS files for instantly faster load times. Page caching and cache preloading work together to improve your website’s speed and increase your search ranking.

6.MemberPress

Creating a membership style blog is a great idea if you have valuable content that you know people will pay money to read. If you want an easy way to turn your knowledge into cash MemberPress can help you turn your existing WordPress blog into a premium membership site.

You can use the MemberPress plugin to create a tiered system if you want to gate content for premium users. It’s also possible to build a community forum page strictly for members of the site. Combine all of that with the ability to drip content to your members, a well thought out affiliate program, and the ability to track your memberships make this the premier choice for those who want a membership style blog.

7.OptinMonster

OptinMonster is an excellent plugin choice for blog owners who have content but need more subscribers. The easy to use drag and drop builder make it a breeze to create and customize your own optin offer.

Out of the box, you’ll have access to highly effective campaigns. Some of the most popular campaigns include the slide-in scroll box, countdown timer, inline forms, and lightbox popups. This will open the door for you to push products like e-books and checklists and give readers a chance to subscribe to your email list. Plus, their exit-intent trigger is able to track when a user is about to leave your site and display a targeted message to them at exactly the right time. This allows you to stop users who are about to leave your site for good, and turn them into subscribers.

8.SEMRush

SEMRush is a marketing plugin designed to give you an advantage over your competitors. You’ll be able to track your rivals and see how they’re developing their ad campaigns with the click of a button. You’ll also be able to dive into keyword driven data to see which keywords are performing well, and which ones aren’t worth your time.

This plugin is excellent for blogs because it helps you focus in on your niche and see what other people are doing. You’ll have the edge and know early on what’s working and have the ability to change your marketing campaigns and add new content on the fly.

9.WPForms

A good form can change the way a website looks and generate more leads. WPForms focuses on both aspects with their free and premium online form builder.

The reason this plugin is considered the best form builder is due to the fact that they use a simple drag and drop builder that allows you to easily create sleek and powerful forms. You can create a number of different forms types and add features such as multiple page forms, file upload, payment integrations, and more, all with a few clicks. The versatility and price point make WPForms the only form builder you’ll ever need.

10.Live Chat

Regardless of your business type, it can never hurt to have a customer service portal for questions or concerns. Live Chat allows you to add that feature to your WordPress site with just a few clicks.

You’ll be able to access your Live Chat profile on any device, making it easy to stay connected and know if there is an issue with your website. This plugin also gives you the ability to create canned responses to common questions, track your chat histories, and even the ability to customize your chat boxes from the ground up!

11.SharedCounts

Part of having a popular blog means having content that people want to share on their social media platforms. Sharing used to be complicated, but SharedCounts makes adding social share buttons to all of your blog posts a cinch.

You’ll be able to track insights and see how many shares you have across specific social networks. This knowledge can help you shift your marketing campaign and target your blog to social platforms that are more responsive to your message.

12.WooCommerce

Many blog owners have another motive for operating their website. In many cases, it could be because their blog helps generate traffic to their eCommerce shop. If, on the other hand, you’re trying to start an eCommerce store from your blog, you could benefit from WooCommerce.

The WooCommerce plugin allows you to seamlessly build an online shop with your WordPress site. You’ll have the ability to sell both physical and digital items — and can even offer instant downloads to paying customers. Couple these features with the ability to add your choice of payment portal, control shipping, and even rope off your business if you don’t do international sales, and it’s easy to see why 30 percent of online stores are run by WooCommerce.

13.Sucuri

Your blog’s security should be one of your first priorities. Sucuri is a WordPress plugin that works with your site to keep you protected from hackers. The technology packed in this small plugin allows you to keep out malware, brute force hackers, and even more calculated hacking attempts.

Sucuri is easy to download, easy to install, and overall the best way to keep your blog safe from hackers, phishers, and scammers.

14.Constant Contact

Once your blog gets big and you start getting a ton of emails, it’s going to be harder to manage your leads when you send out your adverts and weekly newsletters. Stay ahead of the game with Constant Contact.

As your email count grows, you’re going to need a plugin that helps you create a winning email strategy. If you want to get more conversions, you need to learn customer behavior and send them targeted ads based on their behavior. Constant Contact allows you to do this easily by segmenting your subscribers based on many different factors. This will give you more access and control over your emails and your lead lists.

15.UpdraftPlus

If you ask any blog owner how long they have spent working on their site, including writing content, many would laugh because the hours couldn’t possibly be measured. So why would they ever risk losing all that work? With UpdraftPlus all their hard work is safe and sound.

UpdraftPlus is an excellent plugin to have because it backs up everything on your website at regular intervals. If you should fall victim to a hacker or an addon breaks something with your site, UpdraftPlus will be there to help. They even offer a premium service that gives your website priority if things go wrong, allowing you to get your blog up and running as soon as possible.

Conclusion

Growing your blog to rock-star levels can be a daunting task, but these plugins will help make it easier. Remember, when choosing plugins to grow your blog, you have to not only consider plugins that will grow your traffic and get you more email subscribers. You also have to consider plugins that will help you manage your blog once it becomes a huge hit online.

The built in super wide angle lens, ability to plug in external mics, super slow-mo and hyperlapse mode makes for a great vlog camera. However, there’s one big downside to vlogging with a smartphone. If you think back several years ago, you’ll remember how search engines were so complicated and the results were even more. For example, you’d type in a search phrase and the engine would return low quality results. However, things have changed enormously and search engines now provide more value than ever before. The cool thing now is that search engines are able to provide bloggers valuable insight into what’s trending. They can then use this information to write more targeted information that ultimately resonates with readers. However, I’m surprised at the amount of people who don’t make use of the other information displayed in Google. For example, you’ve probably noticed:

Google News

Google Questions

Related-to results

Google Alerts

I’ll like to discuss some of these right now because over the years this has helped me put together better content. I believe you’ll be able to do the same. This will help you rank higher within the SERPS and allow you to write content which converts with your readers. Let’s get started and your feedback will be greatly appreciated.

Google News

Many times as bloggers we’ll write content based on news we hear. We’ll also like to add quotes or reference what we have heard in the news about the topic we are writing about. With that said, it’s important you make use of the Google News section because this will help you find up-to-date information which you can use in your content. For example, I have a blog that provides help to people living with Bipolar Disorder. Since this is a topic which requires a lot of references it’s important I have statistics to add into my content. Whenever I do a search within Google about medication, research, etc., I’ll make sure to check out the news section to read new studies being done on medication or general research on bipolar.

Method: The method is very simple to view the Google News search. Head over to Google, and do a search typing in your main keyword or phrase. After select search, then towards the top next to the image tab, you’ll see one which says “Newsâ€. Once you click that, you’ll see the recent news based on the keyword you used during the initial search process. To find more targeted news, it’s a good idea to be as targeted when typing in your keyword phrase.

Google News is awesome because it gives you up to date news in real-time. This is why it’s important to go back and check the news a few times a day. However, you can also setup Google Alerts which I’ll be discussing later on in more detail.

Remember, Google News search is awesome for those bloggers who need to add some real research, stats, etc. to their content.

Google Questions

I was reading content published by Neil Patel, and he introduced something cool to me which I had no clue about before. Google Questions that display in between results when you type in question like search terms. However, it’s what you can do as a blogger which makes it so powerful. For example, as bloggers we are always looking for ways to improve the bottom-line. We want to provide solutions to common problems people are having. We want to find common questions, and write the best possible content available online…right? Google questions is a great way to find out what people have been asking and then write out answers customized to meet their needs. Here’s a strategy I like to use which has increased my traffic by 15% in as little as 3 months.

Start with my target keyword phrase and hit search. Skim through the search results looking for some of the questions that appear.

Write down a list of questions so I ca research them a bit further.

Head over to Google Keyword Planner and look for keywords related to the questions to check search volume, competition, etc. This will come in handy when I write content, and need to include keywords in the content itself.

Head over to Buzzumo.com and type in keywords to check competitor content. This is important so you write content better then all others online. This will spark social media buzz, and increase traffic quickly. It’s about providing the best value online, and you have to stand out compared to your competition.

Google Questions makes it easier for you to find out what others are typing because they show only popular questions. This is good because you know which way to direct your focus when writing your content.

Related-To

This is something relatively new compared to a lot of the other features. Awesome to find other related terms to your main keyword phrase. I like to use this section to find other long-tail and target keywords to add into my content before publishing. However, you want to choose keywords which are precise to your bottom-line. For example, if you are writing about link building, then it’s a good idea to look for “related-to†terms which include link building within them too. Next, you can do exactly what was mentioned above which is to head over to Buzzumo.com and look for competitor content based on these keywords. This will allow you to find ways to improve your overall content making it way better than your competition. For example, look for ways to include videos, images, infographics, etc to stand out compared to all other content published. Why do I keep emphasizing this?

Social media is huge and if your competitor content has been shared thousands of times then imagine what this will do for you when you put together something more improved…right? Having the best content online will ensure you get the MOST social media shares which in turn is great for your bottom-line.

Google Alerts

This is another cool concept, and I am using Google Alerts simply because I want the same information sent to me every day. Google Alerts is something you can setup using a combination of keywords, phrases, etc to get up-to-date news sent to you when it happens. I use Google Alerts to get updates on new link building and content marketing methods coming into play. Next, I have used Google Alerts for my bipolar blog because it’s important to me that I have the best research and testing news available at all times. The cool thing is to setup Google Alerts is NOT hard at all because all it takes is a few clicks. Head over to Google Alerts to get started and follow the steps. They have provided more than enough information on the entire process.

Others

Right from the Google search bar, you have many other options available, and the one you choose depends on your niche. It also depends on your purpose, for example if you have an image, video or infographic website. The point I’m making is that we sometimes get caught up in purchasing tools or looking outside the box to find the information we need. However, sometimes sticking to Google search is good enough to find all the information we are looking for. Head over to Google search, and take some time to explore the options you have available. See how you can incorporate what’s available to your content or blogging.

Final Thoughts

Google search is always being improved to give you the best information. Through a simple search command, you’ll be able to find enormous value from every search. However, you have to know how to use the other commands in order for you to find the valuable keywords, phrases, etc. In this content I went over some of the MOST valuable search tools available with the click of a mouse button. Here they are again:

Google News – A great tool to find trending news on your niche. I use it to find research being done on bipolar, and new medication statistics. You can use this in order to find the latest news within your industry too.

Google Questions – Neil Patel introduced me to this part, and it can be used to find the MOST trending questions. Create a list of the questions, then create a high value piece of content. Use Buzzsumo.com to find competitors which have written on the same topic. Find ways to improve your content going forward by adding videos, images, infographics, etc. Social media will be your best friend to build traffic, and get your content in front of niche-relevant people.

Related-To – This section has been around for some time however you need to know how to use it when writing content. When you type a search in Google, you’ll see the “related-to†towards the bottom. Use it to find other related terms or phrases that you can add into your content. This is great to find long-tail keywords, and find other phrases which are slowly gaining traction.

Google Alerts

I started to play around with Google Alerts this year. This really helps me because I have a bipolar blog which requires up to date information. It’s very easy to setup, and you can get the MOST up-to-date information right to your inbox in real-time. I’m surprised at the amount of people who don’t take advantage of Google Alerts. All that’s required is a gmail.com account, and after a few clicks you’ll be setup. Add your keywords, questions, related keywords, etc. That’s all!

Start by going through the content, and utilizing the strategies discuss. See which ones work best for you, then optimize them going forward.
